If you’ve ever said, “I want to be in nature… but I also want air conditioning, a real bed, and hot water,” then let me introduce you to your new obsession: The Missing Hotel.
My husband and I booked a Sunday–Tuesday stay in October, and the only regret we had? Not staying longer.
This place is the definition of elevated glamping. It gives you the peace of the outdoors without sacrificing comfort. If traditional camping isn’t your thing, this is absolutely your vibe.
The Private Domes: Luxury Meets the Wild
Each stay at The Missing Hotel centers around a private geodesic dome, and they are so dreamy. Think: cozy cabin meets boutique hotel suite… wrapped in panoramic nature views.
Inside our dome, we found:
- A plush, ultra-cozy bed positioned in what felt like a stylish “living area”
- A full bathroom tucked behind the bed with a hot shower (bless)
- A private AC system (we cranked ours down to our usual 67°F for perfect sleep)
- A mini fridge stocked with water and local beers
- Complimentary snacks waiting on the counter
- A charming “camping-style” coffee setup with easy instructions
- Card games for slow, intentional evenings
- Yoga mats and a printed yoga flow guide
- A record player that actually works (yes, really)
It felt like someone thought of everything.
And yes, because you’re out in nature, the toilet isn’t connected to central plumbing. That means no flushing toilet paper (just human waste). Totally manageable and clearly explained, just something helpful to know ahead of time.

Your Own Private Patio (With a Plunge Pool… Or a Hot Tub!)
One of the most surprising luxuries? Our dome had its own private patio with a plunge pool.
Was it chilly in October? Yes.
Did we still get in? Also yes.
There’s something magical about sitting in your own little pool surrounded by nature, especially when it feels like you have the entire property to yourself. Even in the cooler weather, it felt refreshing and adventurous; like we were fully embracing the experience.
But here’s the best part: if you’re planning a visit during colder months and prefer to stay warm, The Missing Hotel also offers other dome and villa options that feature private hot tubs instead of plunge pools. Imagine soaking in steaming water under the stars while crisp air surrounds you. That cozy contrast? Elite.
It’s such a thoughtful detail that really makes this destination work year-round. Whether you’re craving a refreshing dip or a warm, romantic soak, there’s an option that fits the season and your vibe.
Designed for Disconnecting (Without Feeling Isolated)
We were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and private everything felt.
The only time we saw anyone was:
- A family leaving the community game area as we arrived to play giant Connect 4
- Hearing our neighboring dome guests chatting one evening
Otherwise? Quiet. Still. Peaceful.
At night, the moonlight streaming through the giant window was bright. We ended up closing the curtains for privacy and to keep the glow from lighting up the whole dome. (Highly recommend if you’re a light sleeper.)

More Than Just a Place to Sleep
The Missing Hotel isn’t just about the domes; the property itself invites you to explore and slow down.
On-site, you’ll find:
- An outdoor game area (giant Connect 4, ladder golf, and more)
- Hiking trails to wander
- A meditative labyrinth to walk and reflect
- Open skies that make you feel miles away from everything
It’s the kind of place where you wake up slowly, sip coffee outside, maybe stretch on your yoga mat, explore during the day, and wind down with a record playing at night.
It’s intentional. It’s calm. It’s restorative.
Who Is The Missing Hotel Perfect For?
- Couples wanting a romantic weekend away
- Burnt-out creatives needing a reset
- City dwellers craving nature without “roughing it”
- Anyone who says they hate camping but love aesthetics
Basically? If you want to unplug without giving up modern comfort, this is your sign to book it.

Final Thoughts: 10/10 Recommend
This stay felt luxurious, thoughtful, and truly unique. It gave us space to connect (with nature and with each other) while still enjoying the comforts we love.
If you’re looking for a weekend escape that feels special and different from your typical hotel stay, add The Missing Hotel to your list immediately.
Just maybe book longer than we did. 😉
