Andronikos Santorini Review: A Romantic Hotel in Imerovigli for Couples

When my husband and I started planning our honeymoon to Greece, Santorini was obviously VERY high on our list. Whitewashed buildings, blue-domed churches, incredible sunsets and those famous views of the Aegean Sea? There was absolutely no way we were traveling all the way to Greece and skipping Santorini!

We spent the last two weeks of May 2025 traveling around Greece for our honeymoon, and three of those nights were spent at Andronikos Santorini, a beautiful boutique hotel located in the village of Imerovigli.

Between our private hot tub overlooking the caldera, breakfast delivered directly to our room every morning, the convenient location and some of the BEST personalized service we experienced during our trip, Andronikos ended up being such a perfect choice for the Santorini portion of our honeymoon.

If you’re looking for a romantic hotel in Santorini for couples or honeymooners, here’s what our three-night stay at Andronikos Santorini was really like.

Where Is Andronikos Santorini?

Andronikos Santorini is located in Imerovigli, one of the beautiful villages along Santorini’s famous caldera.

And after staying here, I honestly think Imerovigli is SUCH a great area to consider if you’re deciding where to stay in Santorini.

One of the biggest advantages for us was the location.

We wanted to explore different parts of the island rather than spend our entire stay in one town, and staying in Imerovigli made it easy for us to get to both Fira and Oia during our trip.

Fira, the island’s main town, is just a short distance away, while Oia is easily accessible in the opposite direction. That made Imerovigli feel like a great home base for exploring Santorini without having to actually stay in the middle of the busiest tourist areas.

We spent one full day wandering around Fira, exploring its shops, restaurants and winding streets, and then spent the next day doing the same in Oia. Being based in Imerovigli put us between the two, making it easy to experience both during our three-night stay while still returning each evening to the quieter, more romantic atmosphere of our hotel.

For a honeymoon, that balance was PERFECT.

You Can Even Hike From Imerovigli to Oia

Another huge perk of staying in Imerovigli (especially if you enjoy walking or hiking) is that the famous Fira-to-Oia caldera trail passes directly through the village.

The full trail stretches roughly 6 miles (10 km) from Fira to Oia, following the edge of the caldera and passing through Firostefani and Imerovigli along the way. Since you’re already partway along the route when staying in Imerovigli, you also have the option to start there and hike the remaining portion toward Oia instead of beginning all the way back in Fira.

From Imerovigli, the trail eventually leaves the more developed village paths behind and becomes a more traditional hiking trail, with stretches of dirt and rocky terrain along the way. And, of course, one of the biggest draws is the incredible scenery, with sweeping views of the caldera throughout much of the route.

So, if hiking is something you’d like to add to your Santorini itinerary, staying in Imerovigli puts you in a great location to access one of the island’s most famous trails.

Our Room + That Incredible Caldera View

Now let’s talk about one of my FAVORITE parts of staying at Andronikos: our room.

Our room had its own private porch overlooking the caldera, complete with a seating area, privacy curtains and our own private outdoor hot tub.

And yes, it was every bit as dreamy as it sounds.

Having our own outdoor space made such a huge difference because we didn’t have to leave the hotel (or even our room) to experience those incredible Santorini views.

We could walk outside, relax together in the hot tub and look directly out over the caldera.

For a honeymoon hotel, THAT is exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for.

There are plenty of beautiful places to see the caldera around Santorini, but being able to enjoy it privately without fighting crowds or searching for a viewpoint made it feel so much more special.

Our porch quickly became one of our favorite places to simply slow down and enjoy where we were.

Breakfast in Our Pajamas With Front-Row Views

One of the best parts of our stay at Andronikos was having breakfast delivered directly to our room each morning, which made having our own private porch overlooking the caldera feel that much more special.

The day before, we would select what we wanted for breakfast and choose our preferred time. Then the following morning, it would arrive right at our room.

No breakfast buffet.

No rushing to get dressed.

No trying to find a table with a view.

We could literally wake up, walk outside in our PAJAMAS, sit on our private porch and enjoy breakfast together with stunning, front-row views of the Santorini caldera.

Seriously… does it get much better than that on a honeymoon?!

Those mornings became one of my favorite memories from our entire stay.

Travel days can become VERY busy, especially when you’re trying to see as much as possible during a relatively short trip. Having those slow mornings where we could enjoy breakfast together before heading out to explore Santorini made our stay feel so much more relaxing.

And being able to do it while overlooking one of the most beautiful landscapes in Greece certainly didn’t hurt either.

The Incredible Personalized Service From Giota

As beautiful as Andronikos was, one of the biggest reasons our stay stands out to me was the service.

And I HAVE to give a special shoutout to Giota, the reservation specialist at Andronikos, because she was absolutely incredible.

She regularly checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well and that we had everything we needed. She also made sure we selected our preferred breakfast each day so everything would be ready for the following morning.

It was those little details that made the experience feel incredibly personal.

She wasn’t simply someone who helped with our reservation and disappeared once we checked in. She continued taking care of us throughout our entire stay.

And on our last night in Santorini, she somehow made our honeymoon experience even better…

The PERFECT Sunset Dinner on Our Last Night

Obviously, you can’t go to Santorini without experiencing one of its famous sunsets.

For our final night on the island, we wanted to have a romantic dinner somewhere where we could enjoy the sunset together.

Instead of us spending hours trying to research restaurants, determine which ones actually had good sunset views and figure out where to make a reservation, Giota took care of it for us.

She secured us a reservation in the most PERFECT spot.

We were able to sit down together, enjoy dinner and watch the sky transform as the sun went down over Santorini.

It was such a beautiful way to spend our final evening on the island, and exactly the kind of memory you hope to create during your honeymoon.

Having someone at the hotel who knew the island and could recommend the right place made the entire experience so much easier.

Why I Loved Staying in Imerovigli Instead of Oia

Before visiting Santorini, SO much of what I’d seen online centered around Oia.

And don’t get me wrong, we absolutely wanted to visit Oia.

But after experiencing the island ourselves, I’m really happy we chose Imerovigli as our home base instead.

We could still easily explore Oia when we wanted to, but we weren’t staying directly in the middle of one of Santorini’s most famous tourist destinations.

The same went for Fira.

Instead, we had this beautiful, romantic place to return to after exploring the island.

And because our hotel overlooked the caldera, we weren’t sacrificing those iconic Santorini views by staying outside of Oia. If anything, some of our favorite views happened while we were sitting on our own private porch.

For couples who want to explore Santorini but also value privacy, relaxation and romance, Imerovigli is definitely an area I’d recommend looking into.

Andronikos Is More Than Just a Pretty Santorini Hotel

Something I think is important to mention is that Andronikos isn’t just beautiful because it’s in Santorini.

The hotel itself really leans into the experience.

The bright white interiors, curved architecture and minimal design immediately give you that Greek-island feel, while the caldera views make the scenery part of your stay rather than something you have to leave the property to find.

There’s also the hotel’s Skybar, another place where guests can take in those famous Santorini sunset views.

But personally?

Having our own private porch and hot tub meant we often didn’t feel the need to go anywhere to enjoy the scenery.

Sometimes the best part of staying somewhere like Santorini is simply allowing yourself to STOP sightseeing for a little while and actually enjoy where you are.

And Andronikos Santorini made that very easy to do.

Would We Stay at Andronikos Santorini Again?

1000% yes.

Our three nights at Andronikos gave us exactly what I hoped for when imagining the Santorini portion of our Greece honeymoon…

We had incredible views.

We had privacy.

We had our own hot tub.

We ate breakfast in our pajamas overlooking the caldera.

We could easily head out and explore both Fira and Oia.

And we experienced truly wonderful service from someone who went out of her way to make our stay special.

That’s the kind of hotel experience I remember long after the trip is over.

If you’re researching romantic hotels in Santorini for couples or trying to decide where to stay in Imerovigli, I would absolutely recommend considering Andronikos Santorini.

Especially if you can book one of the rooms with a private outdoor hot tub and caldera-facing porch.

Trust me, you’ll understand why the second you’re sitting outside in your pajamas, drinking your morning coffee and staring out at that view.
